The history of Chevalier comes from archives of the seventeenth century that recalls that the small area of Chibaley includes “houses, gardens, land, vineyards and woods” and therefore represents a farm in which the vineyard coexisted with farming. The name of the domain would be linked, without one knowing exactly why, to the presence of the very old road of Saint Jacques de Compostelle which still borders the property. Olivier BERNARD and his team today passionately lead this family property and line up one behind the other wonderful vintages of the highest quality, with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt.

This prestigious vineyard is made of great complexity and aromatic finesse able to sublimate the grape varieties to obtain their best results. Grapes with 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc make up this wine. Vinification is done in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, the aging takes place in a new barrel cellar for 14 to 26 months, with 40 to 60% of new barrels.

The Tasting of Domaine de Chevalier offers a wine with a beautiful density, an exceptional finesse and a real aging capacity.
