Esprit de Chevalier (White)

A mes yeux, ces trois valeurs fondamentales - domaine, terroir, vignoble - sont en effet indissociables.

WHY BUY IT ?

  • The 2nd wine of a Grand Cru Classé de Graves
  • L’Esprit de Chevalier is vinified with the same care as its big brother: the Domaine de Chevalier, the rising star of Bordeaux
  • The quality of L’Esprit de Chevalier is constantly growing thanks to a rigorous selection of grapes
  • L’Esprit de Chevalier is a charming wine that you can drink more quickly than the Grand Vin
  • A complex and structured wine that respects the image of the property
  • A family property of Bordeaux Tradition

The history of the property takes place back to the 17th century with archives that remind us that the small estate of Chibaley includes “houses, gardens, land, vineyards, woods” and therefore represents a farm in which the vineyard coexisted with farming. The name of the domain would be linked, without one knowing exactly why, to the presence of the very old road of Saint Jacques de Compostelle which still borders the property.

On the vineyard of Chevalier, the planting of young vines in 1986 allowed the assembly of a second wine of Domaine de Chevalier, in red and white, called L’Esprit de Chevalier. This vintage also incorporates vintages that do not quite have the structure and precision of Great Wine. This prestigious terroir of great complexity and aromatic finesse helps to sublimate the grape varieties to obtain the best results. Olivier Bernard and his team passionately lead this family property. Grape variety is 75% White Sauvignon & 25% Semillon. L’Esprit de Chevalier takes the majority of the aromatic codes of the first wine as well as the same conditions of production, which makes it a true reference of the Appellation Pessac-Léognan.

For the tasting, this 2nd Domaine de Chevalier wine offers a beautiful floral and balanced wine, classic and elegant.
