Château Pédesclaux is part of the Pauillac appellation for more than 200 years and 5th Classified Growth in the 1855 ranking.

Surrounded by the famous Ch. Lafite Rothschild, Ch. Mouton Rothschild, Ch. d’Armailhac, and Ch. Pontet-Canet, the 49 Hectares property could easily pretend to produce wines as delightful as its neighbors’. And yet, despite its 1855 ranking, Château Pedesclaux was the “poor relation” of this magic Pauillac area.

But the resurrection of this property happened when Jacky Lorenzetti took over the ownership of the estate in 2009. The French mogul saw all the potential of this terroir and, being a wine lover, decided to all re-organize and restore Pedesclaux’s image.

With Emmanuel Cruse at the head of this estate (they are together co-owners of Chateau d’Issan in Margaux), Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen at the technical assist and JM Wilmotte for the architectural renewal, everything has been implemented to enhance the quality of the wines. New state-of-the-art cellar, reorganization of the vineyard, cutting edge vinification tools etc… nothing has been forgotten.

The 2nd label FLEUR DE PEDESCLAUX contributes to this new dynamic and the new label of the 2014 vintage shows this need of change. And the results are there. James Suckling sums it up by this sentence written in his latest article   “Château Pédesclaux had been producing mediocre wines until 2009 when it was purchased by sports entrepreneur Jacky Lorenzetti. Today, it’s now amongst the best of the Médoc.”

Yes Pedesclaux is a property to follow! And so is its 2nd Wine. Betting on a more Merlot blend than the Grand Vin (89% in this 2014 ) Fleur de Pedesclaux achieves to show the complexity of a great Pauillac but stays on a relative “easy to enjoy” approach. Smooth & fruity, this 2014 will give you tons of pleasure while waiting for the Grand Vin.

At Bordeaux tradition, we are so delighted to be part of this new adventure started by Mr Lorenzetti; Do not hesitate to come back for more informations.
