What a pleasure to be in this absolutely beautiful place, which is château Sociando Mallet. One of the most beautiful Medoc views is here, this superb vineyard is surrounded by hills and is held by lovely people. Jean Gautreau is and will be always one of those owners who have marked the Bordeaux wines history. What a joy to see him, so active, monitoring with a malicious eye the latest Merlot stemming from this 2012 vintage, while Vincent Faure, his technical director and son-in-law manage all of it.
The beautiful grapes have a great taste, the seeds are not bitter at all. In short, the Merlots will give some good wine this year. It may be necessary, this year, to focus on the merlot blends.
