Clos Manou

WHY BUY IT ?

  • An essential wine of the AOC Médoc
  • Great value for money
  • Meticulous work forged over the last two decade
  • A perfect blend of traditional and modern viticulture
  • Dense, powerful, complex, with a mellow tannic structure; a true Médoc, atypical by the roundness of its Cabernet Sauvignon
1998: THE FIRST HARVEST, THE ONE THAT DEFINED OUR LEVEL OF REQUIREMENTS.

This first harvest confirmed to the owners, Françoise and Stéphane DIEF how much they wanted to produce the best.

“Our working models are the great vintages of Bordeaux.
What inspires us is the best.”

It’s all a state of mind, a philosophy: to bring out Quality at all costs, in the vineyard as well as in the cellar; to always seek a balance between all the ingredients that make up the winegrower’s profession; to know how to draw on tradition as much as on modernity, no matter what, if that gives the best.

THE CONSTITUTION OF THE CLOS MANOU VINEYARD

Little by little over the last 20 years, we have been looking for and then finding beautiful terroirs planted exclusively with high density vines, i.e. around 10,000 vines per hectare.
Thus the estate has been built up, always with the same passion, the same taste for detail, the same spirit of precision and meticulousness… evolving from 12 ares to 18 hectares today, including the purchase of a 4 hectare cru artisan and a 7 hectare cru bourgeois, among others.

The various terroirs with different but complementary styles (29% gravel, 28% limestone from Couques, 25% colluvium sands, 13% brown clayey sands, 5% gravelly colluvium sands) make up the Clos Manou vineyard in equal parts.
