The history of Château Talbot is rich. On the plateau of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, you can see Château Talbot from distance. It has the name of Connétable Talbot, famous English warrior. In 1855, during the classification of the Médoc and Graves vineyards commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III, Château Talbot was promoted to the fourth cru classé of Saint-Julien. The estate was acquired in 1917 by Désiré Cordier, then his son Georges and his grandson Jean succeeded him. Under their leadership, Château Talbot became one of Bordeaux’s most famous vintages. Today the property is managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier, assisted by Jean-Pierre Marty.
The terroir of Château Talbot covers 107 hectares of vines in cultivation in the municipality of Saint-Julien. Ideally located on the edge of the Gironde estuary, its terroir is exceptional. The management of the vineyard is one of the most precise of the Médoc. The grape harvests are entirely manual and the methods of vinification and aging are adapted to the different styles of grapes.
At the tasting, Château Talbot unveils itself as an elegant wine, with finesse and silky tannins, with a long finish worthy of the great Médoc wines.
